Aims and Scope
The goal for Note Cards is to keep me writing. The idea of the “note card” comes from the few years I spent as a student at Waring. After many readings, whether it be for the humanities or science you were likely going to write a note card – an informal, mini-essay, designed to bring together thoughts, connections, and cement some deeper learnings. This is my attempt to recreate that.
I’m most interested in topics related to technology, business, design and the built environment, and media. You’re likely to see a lot about those things here.
About
Note Cards is operated by me, Jake Minturn. I’m a married Dad of two hailing from Charlottesville, Virginia. I’m an affable dude, and work for a software company where “I deal with the goddamn customers so the engineers don’t have to!” I also run Minturn, a small consultancy and product shop on the side.
Colophon
Note Cards is published on WordPress with a slightly modified vanilla theme. I write in Apple Notes and use Claude as a both a thought partner and editor. Gemini is used to create editorial imagery. Photography is my own unless otherwise specified, and I use Acorn to edit photos.
